I haven't posted in so long mostly because I think nobody EVER looks at this...except those weird marketing people in foreign countries...thank you for your heartfelt comments...LOL...
I am so distressed and torn on the Syria situation. When are we going to stop? We are war weary as a country. But maybe chemical weapons should be a redline as should be nuclear weapons, we really shouldn’t stand by and allow people to be killed in these horrific ways. But we didn’t step up in Iraq when Sadam killed many more people with chemicals. We also didn’t step up in Rawanda when genocide was happening. I feel deeply that it is morally wrong to kill any other human. War is just wrong “war crimes” is an oxymoron. It’s all criminal. I feel that it is deeply disturbing that we tell our young people that it’s heroic to serve in the military and learn to kill other people. But then I know I would kill in defense of one of my children or somebody else I loved…I would try not to kill…I would try to maim and render someone unable to persevere. But if someone was raping my daughter I would fight…I would call the police…a man (woman) with a gun. I don’t know what the right path is…I really don’t.
And then if we do step up…what do we do when we are done…does the Free Syrian Army respect the rights of all people? Including women? Why can’t we just all learn to get along? We are territorial and opinionated and afraid of death. Can’t we just agree to give love to each other and try to survive? If there is evil can’t we just shame the evil doers and isolate them from others? Can we never rise above our human condition…I always get back to this and think no…we are the most invasive species and we might just wipe ourselves off of the face of this planet yet.
